Fun Facts
Money isn't made out of paper; it's made out of cotton.
Alexander Graham Bell, inventor of the telephone, was an instructor for deaf children. He invented the telephone to help his deaf wife and mother to hear.
As of 2000, about 94 million people in the United States owned a cell phone.

| The hyperlink below downloads an Excel spreadsheet that can help you manage a list of telephone numbers in your database. I use this spreadsheet to help find numbers in database lists that are not proper phone numbers and to sort database lists by time zone (most people on the west coast prefer if we wait until noon eastern before we try to reach them).
To use the spreadsheet, enter the telephone number in the left-hand column. The state and time zone is listed for each. In addition, if there are any listings that are not proper North American numbers (with a three digit area code that is in use, and a seven digit number), a note will appear indicating which number you need to edit and where in the list that number appears.

"Luck is opportunity meeting preparation." Maury Wills
It's a brand-new year! Sometimes, just knowing that we're at a fresh, new beginning makes us look at life-and business-from an entirely different perspective. And, if we're open to change, we may be lucky enough to discover hidden opportunities.
SRA Research Group has enthusiastically welcomed 2003, because it means we'll be looking for new and improved ways of delivering the customized research services upon which our clients depend.
In some cases, research uncovers weaknesses that might inhibit a company's growth. In other instances, research serves to document the success of new endeavors. In all situations, the focus of our research is on creating a road map to business opportunity for our clients.
The new year brought a new research associate to SRA: Marcie Lampert Katz. We're very happy to have her on board and sure she will be a valuable addition to our team. Read below for some information on Marcie.
We wish all of our valued clients and friends a healthy, happy and prosperous 2003.
Best regards, Barbara L. Allan
CEO

"FedEx
has worked with SRA for several years on many different
research studies. What impresses me most is SRA's responsiveness
and attention to customer service. This is all the more
striking given the high standards for customer service
we have within FedEx.
In one particular situation, we needed
to field a research study in a very short time frame.
SRA worked with FedEx to develop the methodology, proactively
offered suggestions to make the research better and
came through with flying colors."

We grow, we change, we stay the same. Remember 1985? Ronald Reagan was in the White House, San Francisco beat Miami in the Super Bowl, it cost 20 cents to send a letter, the median household income was $23,618, and 8.2% of our homes had a computer. No one—at least as far as we know—was online. > Full

The scene: The clubhouse of a successful residential developer. Around the table are eight individuals, all members of the same golf club, who have been invited to eat, drink, and share their opinions about the developer’s advertising campaign for the new fitness facility. Hosting the meeting is company sales director, Marty, a great guy whom everyone knows personally. For their help, the participants will leave with a full stomach and a little bit of cash. > Full

Qualitative, focus group, simultaneous translation. What does it all mean? We speak the language of market research every day here at SRA, and we don't want to leave anyone out. We're going to become "jargon busters," and explain in everyday business language what some of these technical terms mean.
